CLIMATE CHANGE PRIMER

STEP 1: Raise Climate Change Awareness.

Why is it important to raise Climate Change Awareness?

Raising climate change awareness enables a means for people to be educated about what’s happening and provides communities with the necessary precautions and skills to take on climate change when or if it ever occurs. Because a large amount of organizations and human activities are related to our climate, an unexpected change in climate interferes with humanity’s lives, plant and animal life, water usage, and health risks. For example, changes in temperature can affect when plants begin to blossom and produce fruit. Unexpected shifts in temperature can also interfere with when insects hatch or when bodies of water are at their fullest. Over a long period of time, the pollination of crops, food for migrating birds, killing of fish, water supplies for drinking and irrigation, and the health of forests, can all have means to an end if we don’t do something about it right now. The best way to go about reducing the likelihood of these long term effects is to go around the globe educating people about ways to reduce human-caused greenhouse gas emissions which in part will prevent the problems from getting any worse.
