Seminar Series - Spring 2014: Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies of Civil/Coastal Engineers for Future Sea Level Rise

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at ODU organized a Seminar Series on Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies of Civil and Coastal Engineers for Future Sea Level Rise. The lectures took place on Friday afternoons in the auditorium of the Engineering and Computer Science Bldg (ECSB ) on the ODU campus. Time was available following the lectures to ask questions. The seminar was sponsored by: Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Council, Batten College of Engineering and Technology, and the ODU Climate Change and Sea Level Rise Initiative.

    Professor Stive will discuss the experiences of the Dutch and other European nations in dealing with protecting land areas from ocean inundation and the challenges and options being pursued with future sea level rise.
